Sha're

Biography

Sha're

Sha're was the daughter of Abydos' leading elder, Kasuf, and the older sister of Skaara. When the first mission to Abydos from Earth arrived, her people greeted them warmly and reverently, fearing that they were gods, like the goa'uld, Ra. To curry favor with the visitors, Kasuf gave Sha're as wife to Daniel Jackson. The language barrier left Jackson initially unaware of the exact nature of the transaction. However she proved a good tutor of her culture, and Doctor Jackson found her quite helpful in his research. When the goa'uld Ra arrived on the planet, and killed or captured the stargate team, Sha're, her brother, and several Abydos youths effected the team's escape from Ra, and went on to assist them in a bold plan to defeat Ra. The plan nearly failed until Kasuf led the rest of the Abydonians in an uprising, and Ra's defeat was certain. Before Ra could escape, the team managed to use a nuclear device to destroy him and his ship. Three of the surviving team members returned to Earth, but Doctor Jackson chose to remain on Abydos with his new wife.

After two years, a new team from Earth arrived on Abydos, investigating a recent attack on Earth through the stargate by the goa'uld Apophis. While the team was there, Apophis staged a raid on Abydos, he captured both Sha're and her brother Skaara, and he took them to his base on Chulak. On Chulak, Sha're was chosen to be the new host for Amaunet, Apophis' new queen. She was infested with the fully mature symbiote, and lost full control of her own body.

Sha're remained the host of Amaunet for the rest of her life, and Sha're lived as a spectator in her own body, witnessing the cruelties of the parasite controlling her. Only briefly, did Sha're regain control, as she was pregnant with Apophis' son, and Amaunet had to remain dormant or risk the loss of the child. Sha're returned to Abydos to be with her father, and stayed there for a time. Later, she was reunited with her husband only hours before she gave birth and Amaunet resumed control. Though Daniel had gained possession of the child, Amaunet (and Sha're's body) rejoined Apophis, to live the life of a Goa'uld queen.

After two and a half years as Amaunet's host, Sha're once again encountered Daniel Jackson. Amaunet tried to kill Daniel, but the Jaffa rebel Teal'c intervened, killing Amaunet and Sha're to save Daniel's life.
