Atlantis season 5 in the UK
Stargate Atlantis season 5 will premiere on Tuesday, August 19 at 8 PM with Search and Rescue - part 2. Check out the UK's television listings for more info.
Stargate: Continuum television premiere
Sky One (HD) will air Stargate Continuum on Tuesday, August 12 at 8 PM. The movie will rerun on Friday, August 15 at 9 PM. The UK release date for the DVD/Blu-ray is on Monday, August 18. More release dates here.
Atlantis season 5 premiere
Stargate Atlantis season 5 world premieres on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 10 PM with Search and Rescue - part 2 on SciFi (US): "After a brief conflict with Michael, Colonel Carter attempts to lead a rescue mission to save several trapped Atlantis team members."
The episode airs in Canada on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 8 PM on TMN.

Stargate News
Stargate Universe has a go!
The third Stargate series is confirmed and will premiere, with a two hour pilot, summer 2009 on Sci Fi.
The show starts filming on February 4, 2009 at The Bridge Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia. This fall, casting will take place for the series and the pilot episode, and the massive set for the Ancient vessel Destiny will be constructed.

Atlantis: series cancelled, TV movie confirmed
Season 5 will be the last for Stargate Atlantis. The spin-off series, started in July 2004 and ran similtanously with Stargate SG-1 for three great years. The last two years (one and a half actually) were even better.
After the conclusion of season 5 in January there will be a television movie (on Sci Fi).
"We're excited to tell Atlantis stories on a bigger canvas," series creators Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper said. "The successes of the two original Stargate DTV movies The Ark of Truth and Continuum have shown us the opportunities that the movie format offers. We have plans for both SG-1 and Atlantis to remain vital as we expand the franchise."

Don S. Davis passed away
Don S. Davis has passed away, on June 29, 2008, of a heart attack.
Don was to Stargate fans as Major General George Hammond, a role which he played since the Stargate SG-1 pilot Children of the Gods. He continued playing as a series regular untill season 7. Since then he made several guest appearances on SG-1 as well as Stargate Atlantis. He will also make an appearance in the forthcoming Stargate: Continuum movie.
Our condolences go to Don's wife Ruby, his familiy, friends and (Stargate) collegues.
His family requested that any donations in Don's memory may be made to the American Heart Association.

Atlantis season 5 cast
NBC Universal has announced the Stargate Atlantis cast changes in a press release today.
The biggest changes:
- Sheppard (Joe Flanigan), McKay (David Hewlett), Teyla (Rachel Luttrell), Ronan (Jason Momoa), and Keller (Jewel Staite) return. It's not yet clear if Keller will be a regular or recurring character.
- Richard Woolsey (Robert Picardo) will join the cast for season 5 and take command of the Atlantis base.
- Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) will no longer be a regular but she will appear in a few episodes.
- Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks) will make more than one guest appearance.
- And Carson Becket (Paul McGillion) will return for five episodes.

Jewel Staite (as Jennifer Keller) will be a main cast member in season 5.

Stargate Atlantis gets Season 5
The Sci Fi Channel has ordered 20 episodes for fifth season of Stargate Atlantis.
"Atlantis truly came out from under the shadow of its sister series this year and proved that it's a hit in its own right," said Sci Fi's Mark Stern, exec veep of original programming.
This is, of course, great knews for all those involved with the production of Stargate Atlantis, not to mention the fans. So congratulations to all!
